Are tampons used?
No, we use breathable silicone splints instead of classic tampons. This allows you to breathe immediately after the operation.
How long does swelling last?
Thanks to the modern 'Structural' technique and Atraumatic Surgery approach, swelling and bruising are minimal. The main recovery takes 7-10 days.
When can I return to work?
Typically, you can return to work life after 1 week (after cast removal). Heavy physical activity is restricted for 1 month.
Does tampon removal hurt?
No. We use modern Doyle Silicone Splints, not old cloth packs. They allow you to breathe and are smooth, so removal is completely painless.
How much pain will I experience after the surgery?
Most patients do not experience significant pain after structural or closed rhinoplasty. A mild sense of congestion or pressure may be felt during the first 2-3 days, which is easily managed with mild painkillers.
When can I start exercising after the operation?
You can start light walking 1 week after surgery. High-impact sports, heavy lifting, and intense cardio must be avoided for at least 2 months to protect the nasal structure during recovery.
Can the tip of the nose droop after modern surgery?
Over time, due to gravity as in all our tissues, a minor drop of 1-2 mm in the nasal tip may occur; however, this drop remains strictly within physiological norms.
When will my breathing fully recover after rhinoplasty?
You will feel immediate breathing relief once the silicone splints are removed (usually around day 7). However, complete resolution of internal mucosal swelling and optimal airflow takes about 3 to 6 months.
How is the cost of rhinoplasty determined?
The cost depends on whether the procedure is primary or revision, the complexity of the nasal deformity, and the extent of functional breathing correction needed (septum or turbinate surgery). An exact quote is provided after an in-person consultation.
Can I wear glasses after the surgery?
Wearing glasses directly on the nasal bridge is not recommended for the first 2 months post-op to avoid putting pressure on the healing nasal bones. Contact lenses or lightweight frames taped to the forehead are suitable alternatives.
