Frequently Asked Questions

From what age can surgery be performed?
If there is a medical indication, adenoid and tonsil surgeries can usually be performed safely from the age of 3.
Does removing tonsils weaken immunity?
No. On the contrary, chronically inflamed tonsils are a source of infection for the body. When removed, the child starts getting sick less often and their immune system relaxes.
Is there pain after surgery?
Via endoscope, leaving no residual tissue and without damaging tissues that could cause bleeding, surgical trauma is minimized and pain is minimal. Children can eat freely and play a few hours after surgery.
What is the post-operative diet?
A special diet must be followed for 3 weeks after tonsil surgery. Hard, hot, spicy, and acidic foods are forbidden. Pureed and lukewarm foods should be preferred.
Is there a risk of bleeding?
The risk of bleeding is minimal with modern methods. However, during the healing period (especially around days 7-10), secondary bleeding may occur as scabs fall off. Therefore, a protective regimen is important for up to 3 weeks.
