Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can it be done?

This surgery can be performed after the ear development is completed, that is, from about 6 years of age. It is ideal for the child's psychology to be done before starting school.

Does it leave a scar?

Since the incision is made in the natural fold behind the ear, the surgical scar is absolutely not visible from the outside.

Can the ears protrude again over time?

No. The ear cartilage is permanently reshaped and secured during surgery. The result is lifelong, and recurrence is rare (1-2%). Note: If the ear suffers severe trauma within 6 months, there is a risk of sutures opening and the ear returning to its original shape.

When does it heal?

The bandage remains for 1 week, and stitches are removed on the 10th day. A tennis headband is worn continuously for 2 months, followed by 4 months only at night.
